Daniels Scholar Success Program
College and University Partnerships

In an effort to support the success of each Daniels Scholar and to strengthen and build upon relationships between the Daniels Fund and our college and university partners, we have established the Daniels Scholar Success Program. This program is built around three goals:

Create a sense of connectedness for Daniels Scholars to their institution, to each other, and to the Daniels Fund.
Seventy-five percent of each entering Daniels Scholar cohort will graduate within six years, receiving four years of Daniels Scholarship funding.
Upon graduation Daniels Scholars will become productive, contributing members of their community.

The Daniels Fund believes that we are only one component of the support a student receives in their pursuit of a college education. We want to be in partnership with family and friends, the local community, and the colleges and universities where Daniels Scholars attend.

The Daniels Scholar Success Program, in partnership with colleges and universities, features three main components:

The identification of a campus liaison to support Daniels Scholars as well as to increase the regular communication taking place between the Daniels Fund and the college or university; as well as the college or university and Daniels Scholars;
Support activities for Daniels Scholars; and
A stipend to provide campuses with modest monetary means to support Daniels Scholars.

Through the Daniels Scholar Success program the Daniels Fund hopes to put systems in place that allow the campus and the Daniels Fund to communicate regularly about the progress of Daniels Scholars. The Daniels Fund requests that each college/university identify a campus liaison to serve as both a person the Daniels Fund staff can work with and Daniels Scholars can use as a campus resource when they need assistance. In turn, the Daniels Fund has assigned a Scholar Relations Officer to each institution within the four-state region we serve: Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. The Scholar Relations Officer is the university’s and the Daniels Scholar’s main point of contact at the Daniels Fund.

Working with our Partnering Institutions
The following outcomes reflect what the Daniels Fund hopes to see from partnering institutions as a result of the stipend. (Please use this form to become a Daniels Fund college or university partner.)

Partnering campuses will identify a campus liaison to serve as the primary campus point-of-contact for Daniels Scholars.
The campus liaison will provide ongoing encouragement and support to Daniels Scholars. In addition, the campus liaison will communicate regularly with a designated member of the Daniels Fund staff, as well as Daniels Scholars designated to provide support to other scholars on campus.
The campus liaison will organize Daniels Scholar gatherings at least three times during the academic year. These gatherings will be coordinated with Daniels Fund staff.
Daniels Scholars will be exposed to or involved in structured support services (including but not limited to learning communities, academic advising and tutoring).
