What it means to be a Daniels Scholar?
Many are called but few are chosen. I know that I am blessed to have been chosen out of hundreds of students who applied for the scholarship. To me being a Daniels Scholar means you are set apart from everyone else to fullfill a specific purpose, and that is uphold the image of Daniels Scholars, graudate, and uplift others to reach succuess.
Greatest Challenge in college?
Once you reach success you have to maintain it. Maintaining has been the hardest part for me because it is so easy to get distracted and loss focus on your priorities while being in college.
Advice for someone applying to be a Daniels Scholar?
Continue to work hard and you will be rewarded. That is the motto I live by. Being a Daniels Scholar is hard work and sometimes can be overwhelming. But that is what makes being a Daniels Scholar special, because a Daniels Scholar will go above and beyond to accomplish a task. Everybody does not want to fill out the long essay questions and put in the hard work and long hours. But for the ones who do, in the end it pays off in ways you could not imagine. Even if you do not get the scholarship you still gave it your all and just continue to work hard and find other resources to pay for school because just like their many highways you could take to get to one city, there are plenty of other resources to pay for your education.
