New Daniels Scholar Named NM Youth of the Year

BY BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF
FARMINGTON, NEW MEXICO – Aubrey Maslen, a 2009 Daniels Scholar who is a five-year member of Boys & Girls Club of Farmington, was named 2009 Youth of the Year for the state New Mexico by Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). Along with the prestigious title, Maslen also received a $1,000 scholarship from the Reader’s Digest Foundation and another $1,000 scholarship from the New Mexico Boys & Girls Clubs Area Council. This summer, he will compete against other youth from states located in BGCA’s Southwest Region. Maslen is among hundreds of local Youth of the Year winners across the country recognized by BGCA for his sound character, leadership skills and willingness to give back to the community.
